fragments of a half life

Let grief have its way with you.

Johnny Abegg, known for his introspective storytelling, creates a poignant narrative in his latest film, "Fragments of a Half Life."

The film is an abstract journey that delves into the profound loss Johnny experiences after the death of his father, as he dives deep into grief.

Surrendering to the emotional complexity rather than drowning in death, Abegg finds the more he allows his father’s passing to flow through him, the closer he comes to living a more meaningful life.

Alongside his mother’s recount of the life his father never shared, Johnny explores the intricate relationship between father and son.

Letting grief have its way with him, Johnny resurfaces, to find solace in the impermanence of life, with an understanding of where to find his father's presence.
